• Crystal Violet
  • Claimed similar color to Pinacyanol, but not effective at revealing the aura.

• Actually, the color when dissolved in methanol is much redder than pinacyanol, with rather a hint of hot pink. When we examine the spectrum, it is easy to see why-- there is almost no blue transmitted, and the red passband begins much sooner (at a shorter wavelength,) than pinacyanol.

• Crystal Violet is useful as an aura screen in certain circumstances.
