Working with Dicyanin
- Really satisfactory results only with glass cells filled with alcoholic solution dicyanin
- Two screens needed for ordinary work
- Dark screen for sensitization
- Light screen to aid in visualization
- Lighting conditions
- Body of person under examination should be just distinctly visible after the observer has become accustomed to the dimness.
- Light should be diffused from one directory only
- Light should illuminate the patient equally all over
- Sensitization procedure
- Use dark screen
- Look through dark screen on sky (not the sun) or other fairly bright light for roughly 30 seconds
- Only light illuminating eyes during sensitization should go through dye
- Effects last roughly an hour at first
- Effects appear to be cumulative
