How to Keep the Dye Inside

Various attempts at obtaining a good seal with flat perfume bottles, petri dishes, etc., were tried. None were satisfactory with water, much less denatured alcohol.

The best solution was to use a small container that used no seams, and had a single, small filling spout with PTFE stopper. The Starna Cells 35-px-10 is a perfect fit. The pyrex cell has excellent optical properties; it is not necessary to pay the extra expense for the Spectrosil (c) or Infrasil (c) Quartz cells.
